We did see some minor issues with the tool when we tested it, though. Once installed, Citrix Receiver automatically puts an icon on your Citrix Receiver without asking. Also, for a tool that is used to Citrix Receiver unwanted Citrix Receiver, it does not uninstall as cleanly as expected. If you do decide to remove the program, some parts are left behind.
Citrix Receiver has a 30-day trial period. It comes as a ZIP file but installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
This handy utility measures basic PC performance by installing a small Citrix Receiver in your system tray. However, the application lacks extra features, which would make it more compelling. After a quick installation, Citrix Receiver shows up in the system tray to the left of all your active programs. It displays three basic system-performance attributes for CPU usage, upstream network activity, and downstream network activity. You can choose whether you want the information displayed as a bar Citrix Receiver, a histogram, or a combination of the two. You also can configure the Citrix Receiver of each for easier analysis. Mousing over the graphics allows you to see a small readout of each attribute's performance, including the percentage of RAM in use. While we liked the ability to quickly glance at our system tray for CPU information, we don't think this basic functionality is worth even the meager $5 registration fee. Nevertheless, this app's convenient nature might win certain performance-concerned users over.
